Making the Team

Ten year old Lucy Brett, a pupil at Mary Elton Primary school in Clevedon, and a member of The Academy gymnastics club in Portishead, competed in the South West age group gymnastics competition. The competition was held at The City of Bristol gymnastic centre in Hartcliff.

Lucy pictured above on the left, with training partner and fellow team mate Sophie Jameson, competed at the highest level, performing clean, polished routines. So perfectly performed were her routines that Lucy top scored bars.

This is Lucy's second National final, where she will compete with the south west team in the British age group finals in November.


South West Champion

Ten year old Sophie Jameson a pupil at Yatton primary school, and a member of The Academy gymnastics club in Portishead, retained her title of south west champion. In 2006 Sophie was the level 4, combined champion for the south west region, and now Sophie is the 2007 Level 3 age group champion and combined south west champion. The competition was held at the city of Bristol gymnastics centre in Hartcliff.

Sophie pictured above on the right with training partner and fellow south west team mate Lucy Brett, competed highly difficult routines, and top scored vault and floor, and will now compete in her fourth British national finals, in the age group finals in November.
