Eight gymnasts represented the South West region in the Grades National Finals in Cooks Moor leisure
centre in Birmingham. On 5th May, Jessica Pointon and Maisie Dodds, competed in their first National Finals.
They both competed in Grade 4 and put in an excellent all around performance. The team just missed out on a medal,
placing fourth in the competition.
Club grade 3 and 1 was held on 6th May. In the first round saw an excellent performance from Charlotte Bennett,
Ruby Harrold and Lauren Brown. These Academy gymnasts took three of the four spaces in the South West Team.
They were competing in Club Grade 3. The team came second and Charlotte Bennett and Ruby Harrold put in clean
performances which resulted in Charlotte taking bronze medal in the all around competition closely followed by
Ruby in fourth place.
In the second round, was the Club Grade 1, and in this competition The Academy had Coralie Feltham competing for
the South West Team. Coralie put in a polished all round performance and helped the team come fifth. On the 13th May,
an eager Lucy Brett participated in her first National Final, along with fellow team mate Sophie Jameson. Sophie
Jameson competing in her third National Final put in a clean and polished all around performance to finish second in
the all around competition.
