In September The Academy was back in action. Eight Academy gymnasts competed in the biggest open competition
held in Great Britain, over 30 clubs entered and over 300 gymnasts competed.
Bright and early saw the Academy's first gymnast. Maisie Dodds competed in the Level 3, 11/12 age group. Eleven year old Maisie,
put in a very confident performance on all pieces, coming 5th overall, 6th on floor, and 5th on beam with two falls.
Her finest achievement of the day, was top scoring the bars.
What a perfect start to the day!
In the afternoon, seven of The Academy's gymnasts took to the floor. In the Level 4, 9 years age group, April Maslen, Libby Lockett
and Imogen Chan all competed. These gymnasts are only 8 and they all put in excellent performances. Libby Lockett who went clean on
all pieces, fought of stiff competition from over 60 gymnasts to place fourth, a great achievement!
The top individual placing did not stop there. In the Level 4, 10/11 age group, ten year old Hollie Moore made a few mistakes and still
managed to place 6th overall and performed a beautiful bar routine to come 2nd on that piece. Jessica Pointon put in a clean performance
and placed fifth overall, top scoring vault. Fellow team mates, Maisie Kincaid also put in a clean performance on all pieces, and placed
fourth on vault, and Olivia Newnham showed some very polished routines.
Excellent results!
